Dashain

On the last night of Dashain, the day of Kojagrat Purnima, Buddhists worship Mahalaxmi as Katipunhi. On Ashwin Shukla Purni, the day of Kojagrat is the last day of Dashain Durga Paksha. This day marks the end of the 15-day long decade. On the night of this full moon, in the belief that Mahalakshmi will come to roam the earth, people stay awake all night by worshiping Mahalakshmi. Kojagrat, meaning who is awake, is believed to visit the earth by Goddess Lakshmi. Also, from this night onwards, the sixteenth (sixteenth) Lakshmi is worshiped as the sixteenth century of the moon begins. The night of the autumn full moon is believed to be the most beautiful form of the moon. This night is specially taken by Hindus. From tonight, they light lamps outside the house, which is called Akashdeep, and that Akashdeep is called Alammat by the Newars, which means the lantern. But they also say alumat in colloquial speech.

After all, there are different opinions as to why the lantern is “lit”. Indians also light lanterns. Due to which this practice cannot be said only of Newars. But we find that more Newars are burned than others. Akashdeep is said to donate lamps. After the worship of Mahalaxmi, lamps are hung on long bamboos outside the house near the Tulsi monastery or outside in the open. Thin paper is used to block the air so that the outside air does not blow out the lamp. In the previous nights, the moonlight did not show much importance in the light of the moon, but on the night of the coming Aussie, these lamps look very attractive. Passengers walking in the dark of night feel that the lamp has been lit so that darkness does not cause any difficulty. Rama's army, which had returned victorious from the battle with Ravan, seems to have lit the lamp so that there would be no difficulty in the darkness. This can also be imagined in the context of the grand welcome given by Vijay Ram to Ayodhya by lighting lamps in the whole house for three days.

Wealth is worshiped by Hindus as Lakshmi. Dhanalakshmi. As Nepal is also a Hindu nation, Lakshmi is worshiped here with pomp and circumstance. But here the question arises as to which Lakshmi to do. Most of us think of Lakshmi as the same Lakshmi. But few know that Newars, like Indians, worship Shodas Lakshmi. Very few people know that Lakshmi is of sixteen types. Due to which Lakshmi is worshiped only on the night of Kartik Krishna Aussi. In the form of sixteen arts, on the first day, the night of the full moon is the full moon, and after that, the shape of the moon changes every day. Thus on the sixteenth day, the night of Aussie remains invisible to the moon. In this way, sixteen Lakshmi or sixteen goddesses are worshiped along with the moon which is the form of sixteen arts. In the form of sixteen Lakshmi we:

1. Knowledge

2. Conscience

3. Courage and strength

4. Success

5. Wise children

6. Gold and other types of wealth

7. Enough food

8. Happiness

9. Joy Intelligence

10. Beauty and Charm

11. High target

12. High thinking

13. Meditation

14. Ethics

15. Good health and

16. For a long time,

Thus, these sixteen Lakshmi are Mahalakshmi, Siddhilakshmi, Buddhalakshmi, Vishvalakshmi, Bhuvanalakshmi, Manda: Lakshmi, Grihalakshmi, Dhanyalakshmi, Khadgalakshmi, Santanalakshmi, Satyalakshmi, Mokshalakshmi, Pratilakshmi, Gyanalakshmi, Rajyalakshmi and Dhanalakshmi.

The Lakshmi worshiped by the Newars on the last day of the worship of the sixteenth Lakshmi does not coincide with the Lakshmi worshiped by others. Lakshmi, worshiped by the Newars, is worshiped by local painters on paper. They do not worship idols. Sitting in a four-armed Padmasana, Lakshmi's one foot rests on the tortoise's body That is, the tortoise is the vehicle of Lakshmi worshiped by the Newars. Turtles are dull creatures and are also called tolerant creatures. Therefore, when spending money, it gives the message that you have to spend slowly on the tortoise's move. In his right hand is a torchbearer and in his left hand is a sinhamu. Both of these materials are considered essential in any Newar program. The other two hands are in the posture of Abhay and Var. Also, Laxmi's right and left Kuver and Khayak are sitting. Kuver is considered to be the owner of wealth and Khayak is considered to be the protector of wealth. Lakshmi Maharshimardini is red in color. The Newars worship Maharshi Mardini as Mahalakshmi, who takes on a fierce form during the slaughter of Mahishasura. Therefore, while worshiping Lakshmi, the Newars offer six eggs of Ranga meat, samayavaji, and also alcohol and jaand.

Along with Lakshmi Pooja, the Newari's Swanti Nakh also begins. Swanti is a festival celebrated for three days. Newars do not celebrate Yamapanchak. They only celebrate Swanti Nakh for three days. As the day of Lakshmi Pooja is the last day of the year, it is also the last day of business account. The next day, Kachalathwa celebrates the New Year from the day of Pratipada. On this day, Newars worship Mha. The body and soul are worshiped in the new year to be filled with new enthusiasm and success. On the day after Mha Pooja, the sisters worship Kija and celebrate Kija Pooja. Thus, the three days of the festival are celebrated with joy.
